2. Will my current insurance cover emergencies such as a trip to a foreign hospital or an evacuation?

Any trip less than one year in duration is considered a short-term trip.

Any trip longer than one year in duration is considered a long-term trip.

Other than the length of time, a long-term policy is quite similar to a US-style health plan (major medical coverage) in that it is annually renewable, whereas a short-term policy is more of an emergency plan (accidents and unforeseen illnesses).

A group trip must constitute 5 or more people traveling together as a team. An individual/family trip is simply for either an individual or a family (which may be 5 or more).
